I see all these beautiful tanks, then I try to put mine together and am never satisfied w results... Maybe I'm going about it wrong... Any pointers? Pics would be nice....:)

This is my new set up the corners where made for my tube nems. The rest of my rock is live in another set up but I am waiting for the tank to cycle before I put them in cause they have coral on them.

Do a google search, look at others tanks, do a dry run and do another dry run. There really is no right answer. I was happy with my scape but, I also see others that intrigue me and give me ideas.

I think the key is putting the rock together in a way that it looks natural. Play with the rock and try to fit peices together like a 3D puzzle. Once the coraline algae takes hold and the corals grow in it will look seamless.

Very good point Ray. When you look at real reefs they don't look like a bunch of carefully stacked rocks with space in between each piece. Try to leave room for flow around your rockscape but, fit the joints tightly together.

Number one rule of aquascaping: once it looks nice, don't touch it!!!

Dry runs do help though, especially when you have a vision of what you like your tank to look like.
