I recently bought a Used ATB 200 Pro Elegance on ReefCentral; though it's a little loud I guess I'm keeping it. I guess I was spoiled on how "Quiet" the Vertex was. Well, now I'm selling the Vertex Alpha 170 since I don't need 2 skimmers. I used it for about 6 months. It was a great skimmer & runs "Perfect". It is over built like a tank. You can feel the quality. Made with Thick Acrylic and did I mention it runs Super Quiet!!! It is the best "built" skimmer I have ever owned. Yes, even a better "build quality" than the ATB 200 Pro.

I would say it is around 2 years old, but with about a year or so of use time on it from me and the previous owner. It sat for almost 3 months before I had another sump built to use it and then another month and a half while I debated selling it. The Vertex is a better "built" skimmer, but the pump in the ATB 200 Pro pulls more power so it pulls more air.... but at 2 times the wattage (26watts versus 54watts) that was expected. Plus the ATB has a much smaller foot print. Honestly, if I had the sump space I would have wanted a Vertex Alpha 200 or 250. They are very well built skimmers

As stated before, the skimmer runs perfect and is "without" mechanical defect. It only has minor scratches on the body from the pervious owner, and normal wear on the rubber feet. No Cracks. Comes with the upgraded "Adjustable Volute" as pictured.
