I've been out for a couple of years and want to know which test kit to go with. I have my old API kit that I could get refills for. I remember they were ok, but am wondering if I should go a different way.
Which test kits do you use? (ph, alk, nitrate, nitrite, amonia)

I'm kidding....

I use API, Red Sea, and salifert..

like anything, you will have your pros and cons or ppl that don't like a certain brand...

api has worked, salifert is good stuff so is Red Sea..

I currently have the Red Sea kits. Nicely put together design wise. I will say that I had a recent back experience with false results from the Red Sea phosphate kit.

Yup I hate guessing colors....

but I also hate counting drops or what's left in a vial..... Might just go digital now.

I'm really liking the Hanna phosphate checker so far. It is a little expensive, but the ease of use is very nice.

I plan on getting the other Hanna checkers a little at a time .

+1 on Hanna, I've gotten to use it from a friend from ARC and it was much easier then counting drops.

I need to get a hanna, man that takes the ease out of those darn test kits. I really hate testing for anything and everything. It was cool the first six months of reefing and I thought I looked cool with all my test kits in front of my wife. But half the time I couldn't figure out what was what anyways.

I'm rarely using a Salifert test kit if ever at all. And a Milwaukee PH probe. Would like to switch to hanna thoguh for PH, ALK, CA and phosphate.

I guess I'll stick to API for now due to economic reasons. Starting the tank again is tough on the wallet :-) I will start a collection of Hanna instruments - one by one- I've heard nothing but good things about them.
Thanks,
Adriana
