My 7 year old Oceanic tank sprung another small leak near the return... Time to get rid of it..... Question? Its near the return, guess just un-screw it, seal it w silicone and let it dry overnight, wish for best?

Is it the tank itself or a seal on the return?

Its the bulk head in my tank. I'm told its an easy fix, but last time I tried, it ended up cracking and crashing my tank... I live in Victoria, no fish stores close by, so bulk head cracked, I ended up having to empty tank which stirred up bed releasing all goodies in sand and crashing tank! Its time for it to go....

its easy just drain out over flow and put new one on, never over tighten them and make sure area is clean inside overflow where rubber gasket touches.

Yeah, I over tightened mine - what an idiot I am. Still have a bit of a leak every once in a while. When I tear this discus tank down, I'm going to re-do it.

Remember, we're only holding back a foot of 2 of water column - not a lot. And it's hydrostatic pressure - no matter how big the tank is, it's all about depth.
