what is it you are trying to correct in your water parameters? i've mentioned before my dislike for snake oils. reason being is there is an underlying issue that creates the outcome. if the main cause is understood and corrected, you will not require these things.

i agree but to mostly chemical fixes such as ultra slime, dr tims is a biological treatment its a culture of good bacteria to out compete the bad bacteria for food. ive been using it and so has paul with great results. i use it combo with his Bio Pearl(bio pellets) and eco balance, Paul i believe just uses waste away. Sergio have you double checked your tds meter make sure water is coming out low. i vacuum my sand bed to pull organics out(my preference).
John(firewater) started up on Re-fresh by Dr Tim so he may have a review soon of it. Maybe someone else can help you with another solution. also what skimmer are you running and size of tank, ive noticed it pulls out a lot of gunk as it kicks in and having a skimmer bigger than needed helps

Because of my injury and tank issues I had a bloom of cyano that went away and came back with a vengeance. I know the cause of mine which was getting off schedule on water changes.

I dosed the Dr Tims refresh Saturday and yesterday I noticed several places in my tank had less cyano then usual and other places the cyano was breaking up. Did a water change last night and siphoned a bunch out. It appeared to readily come loose from the rocks. That was different than normal as well. My skimmer is working overtime as well. Since dosing I noticed my skimmer pulled out more "stuff". I usually empty my skimmer once to twice a week. The collection cup was full after one day subsequent to the dose of refresh.

Still early, but I will see how this week goes and dose again on Saturday.

I agree! Tanks been running great for years without issues and just in last couple of months its become a real issue. I cut back my corals, feedings, and increased my water changes. Tank was running warm due to my MH and I've put a fan on it to resolve that issue. Sump has cheato, wonder if that could be issue?

Are you regularly harvesting the chaeto? That is how you remove the bad stuff.

Most issues with phosphates and nitrates build up slowly over time. I said most. Therefore it takes a while to regulate the issues.

Sounds like you are doing most of the steps to rectify your problem. Get an accurate test kit and check phosphates. Look into running gfo and carbon or other form of removal.

I run the Dual BRS reactor, changed media last weekend. I dumped my chaeto, that might have the issue, will see... Also does anyone know if ReFresh will harm my copepod population? We have a pair of mandarin's we'r fond of....:)

Reviews I read and the bottle states overdosing would harm shrimp and snails. Not sure and I have not read anything about pods.

As a Polish man im sure you regard vodka diff and if my Polish g/f or her fam saw me buy cheap vodka or use expensive vodka to pour in my tank i would be killed!
in regards to price i spend money on reactor and pellets.... pellets run around 40-50 a year to run the tank so its one of the less expensive expenses on the tank, i can go longer without water changes so i save in salt(one bucket of salinity a year), nitrates stay at zero so my coral is happy and you cant put a price on that lol. also the carbohydrates(bio slime) from the pellets is also a food for the corals they do like carbs as we do :)

If this stuff is like chemi clean I learned to dillute it a bunch and add it to a bucket of top off water or dillute it an add it to the area where the cyano is. I lost one piece of SPS by just adding it to my tank directly.
