Tank temperature thermometers

To go along with nanoreefer11 thread on tank temperatures, what kind of thermometers do you use to measure your temperatures? Of course I am asking as I am in the market for one and I do not have a controller for my tank to measure everything.

Honestly I would bite the bullet and get a controller. The cheap digital therms I've owned all cost about 8 dollars and were all 1-4 degrees off all the time. Good digital thermometers with a controllable outlet cost about 75-80 dollars.

An rkl will cost you about 120 shipped and do everything the outlet will do and way more.

I have one of those $8 digital ones I picked up online at some point.

The other one I have is a waterproofed transistor and resistor sensor. That's pretty much all a temp sensor is, so I don't know how much better quality you can get. Maybe nicer housing and readouts.

The good part about Louis is something goes wrong, take it back. Every time my ac went out it would shut my lights off, saving my tank from over heating. RKL all the way, cheap insurance

I'm going to have to pick up an RKL at some point. Some times you just can't beat the convenience of buying something.

me i love my Aqua Logic Dual Stage Digital Controller has been running for alot of years now works great

it can control your heater also so it won't get stuck on

Man I knew everyone was going to say get a controller haha. If I did I would want a really good one, but just can't pull the trigger on it yet. Plus I am still waiting to find a used 90 corner rr that will fit this house better.
