When are you placing the order Rob?

Do you think they will send you another pair of Fridmani's? If so put me down, I want to try them in my office tank to see if they will eat my bristle worms. I don't need a breed pair, just male and female or small enough to pair up in the future.

When are you placing the order Rob?

I would like to put the order in by Fri this week for Tuesday delivery.

Alton, I will order extras again and get you a pair. Just takes a little swapping around...but I will also ask for pairs. Anyways...I got you man.

Rob, if I did make an order do you have a place to hold them for a bit of time?

Also, are the photons usually this cheap or are they running a deal on them?

Yes, I'm able to hold smalls easily.

They are not running a special on them, but I am : ), not getting rich off these fish people, making a few bucks but that's about it.

Do their photons have more black than orange? I've seen pics of two of Sanjai's pairs and one looked amazing with a great mix of black and orange but the second just looked like regular occ's with a touch of black.

EDIT: Here's the link
http://blog.aquanerd.com/2009/08/black-photon-clowns-on-live-aquaria.html

Also, can you give me a quote for a large and a separate quote for an xl

Mr Cob

Zach, most true black photons will develop a lot of black and the differences may just be age. Photons are a hybrid fish crossed with Onyx percula and black and white ocellaris...so they have a lot of black going for them in those genes.

More about Sea and Reef's black photons:
http://www.seaandreef.com/products/fish-species/sea-reef-clownfish/38-reserved.html

I will go:
Black Photon LRG: $39
Black Photon XL: $50

Zack
Tue, 2nd Apr 2013, 01:27 PM
What are the sizes on the xl?

Mr Cob
Tue, 2nd Apr 2013, 02:25 PM
XL will be 2"+

Notes if trying to make pairs...

Do not order the same sizes. There is always a chance that LRG and XL will come in as female and almost always the XL will be females. Small and medium are safe sizes to get males.

I'm putting this order in with Sea and Reef tomorrow, to be shipped on Monday and delivery/pick up on Tuesday when it gets in or in the evening...whatever works for you.

As a reminder - In an effort to make more premium (expensive!) livestock available to everyone; I also offer payment plans (no interest) with a down payment as long as you are a MAAST local. :)

Thx man.

Yeah, I'm right at as low as I want to go on these fish. As long as stock keeps moving I'm a happy doood and can keep the prices down. I won't be offering these orders for ever...once my systems fill with my own offspring that will be it.

Darwins are ready.

Zach, the photons are sweet dude, this is my first time ordering them. I will try to get you a pic before you pick them up next week. The two you got seem to be taking to one another nicely.

I also got an extra male photon so that you could get the one with the most black. The male I kept to sell has less black and is smaller... They all will get dark though..kind of like onyx, just less blk when young.

Got some nice fish...I want to keep them all.

Thanks again Rob, both have been acclimated. Since these guys came straight from the breeder I decided not to QT. They are both hanging out together below a ball of chaeto I have in the tank. Something I did not think about until just now, these guys have probably never seen another type of fish since day one all they have seen is fish that look like themselves? Anyway my juvenile queen angel’s never paid attention to them when they were released.
Forward to this morning and they came out and ate. They are still a little shy about their tank mates but I am sure in time they will be fine just like the other pair I received from you.
Now if I can convince my significant other to let me buy a pair of Da Vinci or Phantoms?

Mr Cob
Wed, 10th Apr 2013, 07:45 AM
Good to hear Alton. Thx for your business. It's funny to see some of these fish when they see coral for the first time, like they are afraid of it at first.. shortly after instinct kicks in and they look right at home.

I really enjoy captive bred fish and not having to worry about disease etc. They are so much healthier than wild caught fish.
