I made a trip into the DFW area yesterday to hit up some of my fave lfs. I went to a store that I hadn't visited before, Rift 2 Reef in Flower Mound. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but WOW. Color me impressed. Super clean store, it's even cleaner than I keep my tanks. Healthy livestock, not a sick fish or coral in sight, and the prices were well within line for lfs. The coral selection was nothing short of fantastic. For you stick heads, he had two monster tanks chock full of BIG sps mini colonies starting at $75! The stores zoa collection was very nice as well, I picked up a few new polyps that I didn't have. The owners name is Dane, BTW, and we talked zoas for quite a while. He even fragged me a polyp from his display tank when he realized that I had fallen in love with the SC Rainbow he had in there. Other lps were in abundance as well........trachys, echinata, a. lords, goni, micromussa......the list goes on and on. When he realized I was a fellow zoa junkie, he took me to the back of the store to tour his fragging/holding tank back there. It was spotlessly clean as well, as was the entire back room full of qt tanks. I spoke with two of the employees, and they were very knowledgeable as well, and didn't hand out any "fish store bs", and were very friendly and helpful. Fish selection was somewhat thin, but from appearances, they were just sold down. The fish that were there were clean and healthy and FAT with no signs of ick or other nasty stuff (unlike another lfs that I visited, ugh, I wouldn't have taken even a snail from there). Dane also had a very nice selection of high end equipment and supplies. And the freshwater section was full of very nice looking fish and plants, also very clean, and the livestock looked fat and happy and healthy.

I'll gladly be making that drive again when I go in for the DFW swap, and next time I'll get pics. I wanted to get some this time, but the store was really jumping and I didn't want to inconvenience his other customers. If you get up to the DFW area, I highly recommend that you take the time to drive to this store, it's full of awesome!

The store is in a huge shopping center, so you have to hunt for it. But, it's well worth it.

Shane, I believe they do know what they a doing. All the sps had fantastic color ans PE, and seemed as happy as could be.

And for me to be able to walk into a lfs and find a zoa that I don't have......well, that's pretty rare. And I found 8!! Zoas there that I didn't have (but I do now, lol).

Is this an online store, or sticks and bricks? Address or url please, I'd love to check it out!

I'm going to call Dane today and get permission to take pics when I go back to DFW on the 20th.
