I will be setting up the plumbing using the BeanAnimal method. The skimmer will be a bubble-magus curve 7. I need to purchase one more Radion along with an MP40. The return pump will not be anything spectacular, a Hydor Seltz that is rated at a little over 700gph. It will be reduced with a manifold I plan on implementing. Connected to the manifold will be a small GFO reactor.

Nothing major, just finished tinting the tank last night with some limo tint purchased from auto zone.

That sounds like a great idea never thought if it :)

How easy was the window tinting process?

I've used the seltz l30 for my 20 long with great results, so much so that I've ordered the s40 for my 40 breeder build. Good luck, looks like a sexy tank in the making.

That thing needs water! Tomorrow is the 1 year mark of my 105 getting wet.

I watched tons of youtube videos on tinting and then actually watched the video on the Gila tint website. In the end, it wasn't that difficult. Like many advised me, use lots of soapy water when you do it. I had a 32oz spray bottle that I filled with water and baby shampoo. That stuff is slick! It lets you apply the tint easy. I am no pro and would not even dare try it on cars, but it seemed pretty quick and easy on my tank. It actually took me about 30 minutes to do. I used the dark limo tint. 2.5% I believe. I returned the L40 pump because it did not provide me the opportunity to connect a 3/4" return so I chose to go with the Sicce 3 instead.

No joke! I'm itching to add water. I purchased a 3/4" foam pad to put underneath the stand. Once I can get help putting that underneath I am going to start on the plumbing. I have an idea about putting it together since I have been doing some dry cuts, so hopefully that gets done this weekend.

Putting a pad under what? The stand? Use shims. Pad doesn't offer support, just a false sense of security.

it's to protect his wood floors. when he purchased Emily's old tank he saw that we use pink foam and a rubber industrial entrance mat. Emily has real wood floors and after one year the floor looked the same no damage from weight or water

Ah, gotcha. Good idea. I used to use a scrap piece of carpet under my tile.

That's the plan! Now I just need to get with it...

I got the tank filled up this weekend and worked on 'beananimal overflow'. It took some tweaking but I think it's finally to where it should be and boy is it quiet. One of the mistakes I made was to have the pipes in the sump too far down into the water chamber. It caused the 'open channel standpipe' to take on the full load of the return. I cut the pipes to be about an inch down into the water and voila!, water began flowing through the 'full siphon standpipe'. I also had to tweak the ball valve, but that did not take long to get the system quiet. Now I will add the salt tonight and rocks which have been in a container of circulating salt water tomorrow.

Nice...once the drains and ball valve are dialed in there should be no bubbles coming from the drains and complete silence will take over. Mine had a few bubbles for a week or so while the slime coat was forming. Keep in mind when you are aquascaping it will change the balance and for a few minutes you will see bubbles and hear the drains.

Just started adding the salt and then the aqua scraping begins tomorrow. I am planning on a two island view. The protein skimmer will be turned on tomorrow after the rocks go in. When should I add a shrimp?

don't do the dead shrimp cycle waste of time, I would get some nitrifying bacteria from lfs and add a couple fish. just make sure your all your filtration Is online. microbacter , dr Tim's one and only, fritz. just call around see what lfs has it

Quick shot of where its currently at. Not sure I'm ready to start loading it up with corals just yet. I had a diatom outbreak that lasted longer than expected.
