Jk bro, that's awesome. Was this mikes old system?
BBQHILLBILLY
Sun, 31st Mar 2013, 08:13 AM
The system is a merger with koa25s setup and the DSA 65. Theres plenty of time left in the T5 bulbs, which will be dropped from the ceiling to light the tank.
The T5s will give me time to find the LED setup to cover the tank, and then Ill wait 50000 hrs.

iirc chlorine dissipates/evaporates from water with water movement. i would say you would not have chlorine left in that in a few days of just running the pumps.
also, if you ever need some RO, i live in kerrville and have 20 gallons reserve at 75gpd @5tds if you are ever in a pinch.
+1 what MrCob said as well lol

Tank is for sure going through a cycle right now.
Add the maturation compound to start nitrification. Ammonia level will rise and reach its peak then declines, while bacteria continues to multiply until they are undetectable during testing. The by-product of ammonia is nitrite. Nitrite levels will rise until the number of bacteria has increased to the point at which they break down the nitrites faster than it is being produced.
The end product of this process is nitrate. Nitrate is not toxic to the fish but high levels of it can produce problem to your aquarium. You can recognize the increase of nitrate when there is an algae outbreak to your saltwater aquarium. You can then control algae reproduction by constant water changes and chemical filtration.
