Im starting to surf around for a good external pump to replace my blueline 1800. The blueline works. There is no chance of a leak.
And the flow is awesome from this blueline. But it is a little loud. When I turn off the closed loop the noise , there is no noise. lol
I have a mag 18 for return.
Anyways from what Ive surfed sicce is quiet quiet and it doesnt have psk2500 pump turn on problem after a shut down, which I do during feeding.
Any experience using it as an external pump please submit. How does it perform and any leaks? curious and thanks

if your refering to the psk2500 thats only a skimmer pump, syncra line of pumps are quiet how many gallons an hour are you looking for?

dont like the psk2500 for skimmer pump because if i turn it off it wont come back on. lol But other than that its the best skimmer pump I know. I have to take it out look at it, and put it back in. My mag18 return will one day be replaced with a sicce pump. My 1st goal, and Im not buying right know but hopefully sooner than later is a quiet external pump. That will not leak. Mag 18s make a good external pump but unless silicone the seals you have a chance of a leak and of course heat, which does good for winter time.
The blueline 1800 is plenty flow for a close loop and sicce 10 is 2500 which may be perfect. I may eventually goto a dart but thats for sure is a lot of flow. my question
Who is using the sicce pump as an external pump? lmk Just want to get soome feedback Thanks

Trick to start a psk2500 is to cover the hole on the bottom of the pump when it sounds like its on but not producing bubbles...

like you have any room to talk chris :lauging:
yes, i have run sicce 3 and sicce 5 pumps externally on closed loops. they are quiet, but if you hard plumb them and that pluming touches any solid part of your stand or wall, a humming noises will result. that may be true of any pump, though. i dont know anything about the sicce 10, that sounds like a beast.
as you mentioned, i have a dart running the closed loop on my 250, and wouldnt consider any other pump on a big tank. it pushes a little more than you are looking for, but it is very close to silent. of the three tanks running in my living room, the loudest noise is the small fan on the lights of the two biocubes.

I bought it a month or so before I sold my skimmer and wasn't having to finger my skimmer....
also bubbles were a lot finer than the white or purple wheel....
