Just wondering if anybody here uses them. Looking at cost for a RO/DI unit 5 stage, and they all seem rather expensive, except these ones from PureWater. So wanted to get any kind of feed back about this company and its products.

I'm sorry Chris, but a blanket statement like that is going to cause some people very real problems.

The ideal thing to do is contact the city in which you live, and request a water quality report. That will tell you how extensive your filtration needs to be in order to remove contaminants. In my case, we have extremely his chloramines levels, and in order to remove them I had to modify my system. One thing that remains constant, no matter what, is that chloramines removal requires 20 minutes of contact with 20" of carbon. And the only way to meet that goal for my system is the addition of a housing. Over filtering is never a problem, under filtering can be. I would much rather spend the extra $10 when filter changes are necessary, rather than risk either damage to my ro membrane, or worse yet, damage to my tanks. Chloramines can be defeated by adding prime to your makeup water, but at least for me, it's cheaper to run the extra filtration.

I've been running a 4stage with no issues....

But I do go through filters pretty quickly.....

You think a extra canister can help?

My system is like:

Filter-carbon- RO membrane- di resin

My TDS entering is usually around 220, after the RO membrane from 4-8 after a few minutes.

What could help the resin last longer?

Well I think I will go get a 5 stage from PUrewaters, I already have a TDS meter on the way. So I will be checking the output as well.
