I bought a reef octo recirculating pump from Rob a while back. It has a otp-2000 pump on it. Does a pretty decent job skimming. But i want to make a beast skimmer out of it. I was curious if there was a impellar upgrade for it out there(cause i couldn't find one) other than doing a mesh impellar, which is spiking my interest currently to try. Or if there is a similar pump out there that i can switch in it's place to increase skimming potential of it. Appreciated,

I've been running a PSK2500 using the upgraded red dragon needle wheel for several years with great luck. Its low wattage and draws a heck of alot of air..... However because it draws so much air it tends to be a bit noisey.....

I would do the psk 600 over the 2500....
Psk 2500 have start up issues sometimes, but I've had luck like Troy with the red need wheel..

Even with the upgraded needle wheel it will only produce 14.25 scfh. The Sicce with the red devil needlewheel will be twice that at 35 scfh. I tested these results with my friends air flow meter. This is what made me switch to Sicce in the first place. Before I was using the Sedra ksp 5000 that was only producing 16 scfh with the stock needle wheel. This doubled my skimmers output over night.....

When the pump was new I did have startup issues. I would like to try the 600, at the time I purchased the 2500 the 600 wasn't available.
