The BOD was recently contacted by a concerned store manager in regards to a MAAST member misrepresenting their position as an appointed/elected official of MAAST in order to receive an extraordinary discount on goods/livestock.

For starters, the discounts that charter members receive are strictly up to the decision of the store and are not guaranteed in any way by MAAST. Second, the stores that choose to do so are normally our sponsors. The store that reported this issue to us is not even a current sponsor.

I would hope that all of us can be adults and will be accountable for our actions. While I understand that this is not always possible for some, we as the elected BOD will deal with any further actions as deemed necessary. As a start the TOU will be amended and updated to reflect this issue. What a sad day that we actually have to think about this. What this individual did was not respectful and reflects negatively upon MAAST and the other responsible members.

Furthermore, the actions of deceit to gain goods are also defined by the Texas Penal Code Chapter 31 (theft).
The individual will not be publicly outed as that is not how we do business. For those that know about this event I will also say that I do not condone outing the individual either. This is a closed subject and I appreciate your understanding on our position.
