The thing with harlequin shrimp is their diet. They only eat starfish. Sometimes I have a hard time feeding mine. I dont like putting chocolate chip starfish because they can eat your coral. So asterinas and red bali starfish is what I feed mine

I was told you can cut off a leg of the starfish and it will eat that and the starfish will grow the leg back that way you don't have to keep buyin them that often seeing how it can get pricey. But don't quote me on that

its a lot of trouble cutting legs off and they dont grow that fast so you end up tossing it all in at one point. emily feeds her shrimp small chocolates once every 2 weeks, and small white ones from my 150 in between as like snacks. shoot as soon as a chocolate hits the sand hers comes out of the cave and snags the starfish and that's the last time you see it.

I had a pair at one time and they destroyed my astarenia problem. They are difficult and expensive since you have to buy live starfish for them. Other than that, they were hardy. They're really interesting and do best in pairs.
