I picked this beauty up from Louis at elegant reef. I have been wanting one of these since I got into the hobby and I'm so excited I finally got him. It's so cool to watch him grab his food and eat.

It's so cool they are nocturnal so Rey actually stay closed all day and right at sunset they start to open I love it

He's in the corner of my tank away from all corals my fish don't even go to that side if the tank any more lol

Mine has been with me over a year... And yes fish know to stay away, he has never taken any of them...


Is something messing with him during the day? Mine only closes up when he is messed with.

No nothing messes with him he's on the right corner of my tank by himself other than a bottle top that you can see in the pic protecting my mushrooms while they attach to rock (I'm hoping any way lol). Everyday without fail he opens at sunset its weird

Very cool looking! This makes me want to set up my 30 corner tank with nems. I just have to remind myself that I don't want to have to maintain 3 tanks, or listen to the wife fussing at me for turning our living room into a "fish store"!

Looks great but what caught my eye was the two liter bottle that is cut and submerged in the background of pic. What's going on there?

Yeah that's where I put my loose mushrooms till they attach to the rock :( I don't know of any other way cause I don't have any mesh right now and if I move the bottle they float away and I'm worried they will get caught in the powerhead. If anyone else can tell me a better way that would be great

I put my loose mushrooms in a little souffle cup with some rubble. Still have to keep an eye on it though. There are also acrylic rubble boxes for that.

I didn't know how awesome these nems were until I saw Tony's.

Do they stay in them and not drift off with the current ?

Kind of. Depends on what you use and your flow. Mine does pop out from time to time so I moved it to a low flow area.
