great article I remember this a while back when I got into bio pellets. this is also the reason I like dr Tim's products. waste away and Eco balance have really made a noticeable improvement I'm my tank. used dr Tim's nitrifying bacteria to start Emily's new nano up also. when I spoke to dr Tim he explained the benefits of "good" bacteria.

Good read. I like how it highlighted the toc removal capacity of GAC and other bacteria. That's why the hiatt system could reduce nitrates so quickly. I was using almost 10lbs in the torpedo. You could basically save a crashing tank with that system.

Now I'm a big proponent of bacterial supplements like prodibio bio digest. A wide diversity of bacteria is a very important part of building a healthy reef tank from the ground up.
