That's pretty cool. Not much of a price difference between a normal heatsink either. FWIW, you don't solder the LEDs to the heatsink, you use either thermal adhesive or you can drill and tap the heatsink with thermal compound. On a side note, they do have solderless LEDs as well though.

LEDs don't get soldered to a heat sink, ever.

So where do I get the kit and how does it compare to my MH for my Sps? Louis at ER has got my dream tank w stand and is helping w my dream custom tank project.... Are leds even worth considering? Sorry, have just read Alot of mixed reviews.....

Well it takes more than just lights.......

Lights play a big factor.... But so does good husbandry.

I personally wouldn't do DIY LEDs for 2 reasons...

1. They look like DIY, unless your really nifty..

2. I like to keep as much guess work out of anything I do, I'd rather pay more for plug in and play with a product that has some R&D behind it..

i agree with tony, also sergio make sure you get proper optics, as your tank is 30 inches and punching through that much water is going to be a challenge. you know what im going to say......MH is the better way to go with your tank, 6'x2'x30" is a beast tank for sure

IME ..

With MH there is no guess work besides what combo to run..

with LEDs it's all about what color what intensities.... And there's always that thought if you crank up a certain color will it improve things.. Lol, I have had the sols and now the vega's and I'm always guessing my settings, I think I found a great setting but the thoughts never rest...

And I would agree unless you plan on dumping some serious cash on some awesome lights :)
