What internet provider do you use and what model router/switch do you have?

Here is what you will need to know, in a nutshell....
-Your external IP address (find by going to http://www.whatismyip.com/)
-Internal IP address of the RK (If you set the IP manually you should know it, page 12 [http://www.digitalaquatics.com/downloads/RKM-NET%20User%20Guide.pdf], if it was assigned through DHCP, you might have to look at the router to find the address leases to identify the RK's IP)
Along with knowing the IP addresses, every IP has associated ports. You are going to want to pick an external port, preferably in the high range, like 12650. That's a random number I picked, to be discrete. Choose one of your liking, just make sure no other services are running on it.
On the router, you'll find a port forwarding section. Possibly under 'Applications and Gaming', 'Advanced Routing', NAT, or any number of other options. I'd need to know the router model to tell you for sure. When you find these settings, you will enter the external port number you picked in the last step. Then you will enter the internal port number for the RK, which I am going to assume is 80, the default port for http. Then you enter the IP address for the RK in the box titled something like internal IP, or to IP address.
Once that is done, you are done. Access through a web browser on a computer outside your network by using this URL format http://{EXTERNAL_IP_ADDRESS}:{EXTERNAL_PORT_NUMBER}
If you are configuring a phone app, it may ask for these values separate, or it may ask for a URL such as the one above.

Chris, I have all the settings written down from when I configured that thing. We can try and follow that as a template. I'll fire up the laptop I used...I saved the settings in a notepad file. Are you using a hard wired Ethernet line or are you using a wireless setup.

I still have the app so we can at least use the same values with the exception of IP address and the port selected for forwarding...

It didn't take too long to setup last time, but it was uncharted territory for me...and I used a hard wired Ethernet connection.

I've stumbled through it with the RKE and with my current GHL Profilux 3 setup...each time it is confusing but with a little tinkering its not that bad.
