Ok I feel my protein skimmer is not skimming up to par. And I'm going to be stepping up in aquarium size here shortly. So I just wanted to put out there if any of you have a spare protein skimmer sitting around that can skim 120 gallons very well please send me a private message. Thank you!

So I'm on the edge of investing into this skimmer. I've read tons of positive reviews.
SCA-302 Protein Skimmer http://bit.ly/RSRbHo
But I figured I would give it one more shot out there and see if anyone has a good skimmer laying around and don't want anymore than 130$.

so lets say you have probs with ScA skimmer where do you get it serviced. I keep seeing people in diff forums asking that after buying them. lets say you get a lil more expensive skimmer from a LFS or good store online, atleast you know who to contact, and chances are that skimmer company has a distributer in U.S. to contact. no matter what any skimmer can have problems

Couldnt you just get a new and better pump if it craps out. Isnt that a big % of the problem

but without having a bunch of pumps to test fit it would be a PIA.

ok cause ever pump is same size shape and fitting size. I just had a friend who tried to swap his sicce psk-2500 for a psk 1000 and a lot of modification had to be done, in the end buying a new skimmer with a psk1000 would have been better, and we looked all over the Internet for info to help.

Perhaps your right, but in this situation he said he didnt want to spend more than $130. The skimmer mentioned is reasonable for the price. How much modification did you guys do? Cut some plastic?

I agree with what you said Chris so I got the NAC7 Bubble Magus cone skimmer that Mig had on here. And boy that thing barely fits in the spot I have for it in the sump. Its footprint is 7.8 x 9.5 and the spot in the sump is 8.25 x 11. But man this thing is skimming like a champ!
