Well, this past Friday, I finally was able to stop by phenomenal aquatics and I picked up a Royal Gramma, a huge stock up of snails and hermits for my depleted CUC, and a torch. I acclimated everything and within the hour, everything was opened up. The only problem was, the Gramma was no where to be found. I checked under every rock, checked behind my stand, checked my overflow, and then checked my sump. No dice.. I figured he probably jumped into my stand behind my sump and figured I'd find his body when I took my tank down this weekend. A few days later, Tristian 23 dropped off a 6 line I had purchased from him. The 6 line didn't look so good following the acclimation and within a few minutes, a snail was trying to crawl on him as he lay on the sand. I quickly put him in a breeder box. I had to be in SA by 8AM the next day so I decided to stay overnight to remove him if he passed since my tank was going to be on auto piolot for a week while I was out of town. The next morning, the 6-line was not in the box.. I figured he too had either jumped or been eaten by my CUC. Again, I tried feeling around the tank for him but no luck..
Today I got a call from my gf who said both the 6-line and royal gramma were doing fine and eating.. apparently there are a few nooks and crannys in my live rock that I didn't know about and I guess they were both hiding out. The 6-line doesn't like when we stand in front of the tank and the Royal gramma is still getting framiliar with the tank but all in all, I'm glad to say both fish are alive and eating :)
