Help with a quick wood cut

I'm picking up a canopy this week for my reef tank and it has a center brace in the canopy that I'd like to have removed. Anyone handy with a saw that would be willing to make 2 quick cuts for me?

What kind of saw and cuts?

Heck, I'm sure any cicular saw will work. It's just your regular 1'' or 1/2'' wood. I can get a better pic when I pick it up.

It's just two cuts paralell to the front and back to remove the center brace to allow me to hang my leds.

Yeah, I kind of figured that after I re-read your post. I have a circular and jig saw if you want to use them.

Ok, I'm going to be completely honest, I'm a spaz with power tools, would you be willing to make the actual cuts? If I meet up with you on my way into town I can provide a frag for your services :)

Oh trust me, I thought I was the bees knees at cuts until I made my canopy.. lets say it looked more like abstract art than a canopy.

i can help too in case needed, i have a jig saw and a saws all that would make quick work of that brace
