t5 bulbs

im thinking about changing up my t5 bulbs out come January. Right now i have ati bulbs which i think im going to stick with, but i was also looking a giesemann bulbs. Anyone use giesemann, if so what do ou thik about the?

Also where is the best place to buy them. ive looked at a few sights tonight and it lm having trouble finding a place that carries a good assortment of ati spectums.

The best assortment that I have seen for G lamps has been Aquatek in Austin, Louis has a good assortment of ATI, but I am not sure if he can get Giesmann? Polly's has a good supply of UVL lamps.

Alton nailed the locals. Online I always had good luck with reefgeek. Plenty of ati.

I would order from BRS before Louis got them in stock...ati that is.

he has them fairly priced unlike another LFS that want to charge $40 a bulb, talk about mark up.

Like John said reefgeek has plenty of ATI bulbs.

Thanks guys. I will call Elegant and see what they are charging for them. I know ATI 36" bulbs go for $20-21 at most sites and Giesemann $22-24, but im not sure what the locals charge for them.


Anyone use Giesemann bulbs? any opinions on them?

I tried G bulbs in the old finnex. Ehh, they were ok. I preferred the range I got out of the ati. I ran the aqua blue bulb in the giesmann. The pink one looks kind of cool to try though.

Overall, the ati bulbs gave me everything I needed, but t5 is a lot of personal preference.

Fiji Purple. You need a Fiji Purple.

Todd would get awesome color with that one bulb added in.

yea, I have a fiji purple in my 6 bulb configuration now. It combined with the Blue plus bulbs looks nice.
