Nominations for 2013 President and Vice President

Attention MAAST Members!

We the BOD would like to announce the upcoming annual Presidential & Vice Presidential elections for the 2013 calendar year. According to the MAAST Bylaws, candidates for the office of President & Vice President must be a current member in good standing who is currently on the Board of Directors or has previously served on the Board of Directors. We are looking for those who are willing to participate actively on the forum, in discussions as well as help in leading MAAST into a brighter future. We have a very busy schedule and would like to remind everyone that time and dedication play a very important role in these positions. It is requested that the nominees submit a post that he/she accepts as well as submit a small bio explaining why they would like to become the President or Vice President elect and the special qualities they have that can be beneficial to the club.In addition to the above mentioned, we the BOD would also like to see the maximum participation from you, our club members. Now is your chance to make a difference and make things happen.Your nominations for President & Vice President are now welcome (please be specific of position when nominating). Nominations will close upon the opening of the polls on Dec. 7th.

The last year has been pretty much low drama on MAAST and I'd like to believe that is due to a nice balance on the BOD team.

Thanks guys! There was a time that being on the BOD used to be called a thankless job, but I have to say there has been a lot of recognition and gratitude this past year from our members... it's really nice. I would like to take a day or two to consider my nomination. This position is a big commitment and one that I take seriously.

Just to mix up our options, I would like to nominate John (Firewater) for president also.

Well I haven't been to as many events this last year but the ones I have I have enjoyed very much and have to agree on the drama level being low lately. So if you don't run for Pres. I would like to nominate Kristy for Vice President. :)

First, thank you for the support and the nominations for staying as VP and the nominations to step up as Pres.

It is challenging and fun all at the same time. This last year has been rewarding and we have seen some good times for MAAST with plenty of other opportunities ahead.

I have been behind the scenes as a Mod, then as a BOD member, and finally the last year as your VP. I would like to take some time to think before I make my decision.

I would also like to nominate Alton, Marcus, Sherita, Jarrod, John R, Cory, and Karin for pres and VP positions. The BOD had worked hard to bring MAAST forward and it shows. Any of them would do a great job.

I would like to nominate Marcus (tiger_eyed one) for VP. He is currently on the board and is very dedicated and experienced with both reefing and supporting the club.

I'd be happy to accept the opportunity to run for the position and to serve MAAST as vice if I am elected.

Not much to say about myself, but here goes. I believe I work hard and have served on the BOD before. I only held office for a year as I spent a lot of time traveling and felt I had extended myself quite a bit. I've recently taken another staff job at work that does not require travel. I will be able to put in more time to MAAST and to assist in its current glide path.

I also think Marcus would be a viable and strong leader, as well.

After giving this a lot of thought, I need to decline the presidential and vice presidential nominations. It's really been a privilege to serve MAAST in this leadership role, but the demanding job that I started a couple months ago makes it impossible for me to give this position the time that it deserves. I appreciate the nomination.

I have been going back and forth with my decision.

After talking it over with some good people I have decided to accept the nomination to run as president.

I have spent the last several years serving MAAST in all facets from moderator to BOD member to Vice President for the last year and look forward to continuing the path we are on.

Well I want to thank John for the nomination but at the moment I am going to have to decline it. Being this is my first year on the board I want to continue to grow and learn more while being on the board one more year and hopefully more. So by hopefully next year I will be ready for such a position.
