Return pump failed :(

I'm pretty sure my return pump burn up what can I do to keep from having to start over from scratch and at least the water in the sump will be nice and pure

Borrow one this evening until you can go buy a new one tomorrow.. i''m sure someone has an extra pump laying around..your way too far from me our I would let use use a couple of Maxijets for a temporary fix...someone closer should be able to help

Let me see what I have. I don't have any that I'd use for a return on a permanent basis, but I can loan you something to get you through the day. I'm at Braun and 1604.

Like I said, all I have are small powerheads, all the bigger ones are in use. But I do have a MJ900, MJ400, Rio800, Rio200, ViaAqua 480 I could loan you. You're welcome to any of them. If you hurried, you could probably make it to a shop in time to get something.

What kind of pump do you have? What are the symptons? It could have burnt up, but I've never actually had a pump die, they just gotta be cleaned or banged around sometimes. Worst case, new impeller.

I'm trying get to aquarium designs before they close for a new one and traffic is really sucking but thanks guys fingers crossed I make it and thanks for the offers ill let ya kno if I need it

It's a quiet one 4000 we cleaned it and it works then stops again we decided to get a new one and just use the old one to pump water into the tank for water changes if it decides to work

sounds like impellar got swollen from too strong or long vinegar bath... or just went out, impellar mags will go before main motor

Made it to aquarium designs 2 min before they closed *phew* they looked at it and said it looked like it was ran with no water before but we did buy a used set up so its to be expected some equipment go bad but we got a new one and are up and running again yay!! :)

It's always better to have a new pump anyway... This one I believe wasn't to old, but can't beat a new pump!

You should pick up that used pump from 350gt anyway, to have it on hand if ever needed. It would avoid this same problem in the future.

Yea I wasn't expecting to have to buy a bunch of new stuff during the cycling as I bought a complete setup off Craigslist o well what ya gonna do now hopefully I get my stuff sorted and posters up at the stores as Craigslist is dead and I can get charter membership (wasn't expecting all these things to go out) o well.......
