I really like my Bubble Magus. Super quiet and very efficient.

Sca 302 or sca 303
have you used them yet? I was looking at Ray's post on the 301...but I'm just waiting for someone local to post some feedback about actually using them.

omega or cs8 formally known as cs-1 by seaside aquatics, they have sicce pumps. I've run the cs-1 and cs-2 now no complaints. look at all the major skimmers out there and they all run sicce psk-1000,600 or some form of it. they also make pumps for tunze so that tells you a lot about quality. another good thing is they have a us distributer I just got a replacement part from sicce us, located in tenn and had it in three days.

Rob, I have the 302 (the older style with the pup underneath and the skimmer on legs)
here's a video I made for another maastard that shows how it skims, I'll make a full review later this week if you'd like.
Around the 2 minute mark I talk briefly about the skimmer and show the collection cup after a few days

Lmk if you'd like a more in depth review.

Good to know. I was thinking about getting the 301 for my 40 breeder clownfish tank. You think the 302 would be better?

To be honest, it all depends on your footprint of your sump and the clearance height you need. This skimmer had a smaller footprint and a much larger vertical clearance height which fit my sump better than a large footprint and a small vertical clearance height. I heard they both perform the same, it just depends on which footprint works better for you.

Although, I would rather the other one, these white legs are very flimsey and fragile. The other version has the pump built into the body of the skimmer that makes it much more sturdy.

I also have the 302 the new version.. Works great. Pulls out some nasty stuff. Picked mine up on ebay.

been looking up reviews on the sca and it has mixed reviews. i guess that sca is ok for the money but lots of reviews state how the construction and materials are on the low end. but most video seem to show it skimming well but for how long?? time will tell.

Before i bought my SCA-302 i was doing research and stumbled on a SCA thread that was going on for 2 years. I read through it and the only problem people mentioned was about once or twice a year you have to remove the air line hoes and wash it out because it gets clogged with salt creep, which limited the bubbles in the chamber.

a 90 day warranty on pump is sketchy. most do 1 yr or 2yr on pumps

Rob I choose the 301 because I had Ace design my sump for the Bubble Magus Nac 3.5 which the 301 is the knock version of that skimmer. From my reading and post ive found the 301 will be plenty for me. I have never been a heavy feeder, plus I will be running a GFO reactor along with it.

I would buy another SCA. I also have a BM NAC9 and I wouldn't say there is a difference in build quality. I am really happy with mine. I started a thread for them last month and several other members are using them too.
