I'm trying to set my vortech into NTM and the instruction manual that came with the thing is terrible. Their page doesn't do a better job either

http://ecotechmarine.com/ecosmart/vortech-ecosmart-driver/ecosmart-modes/

I have it on purple, then it made a wave, then, according to the directions I set maximum speed and hit set, it then goes to a constant speed. I assume this is NTM? Or am I doing it wrong?

Also can someone tell me how to put my driver into random reef crest. I feel like I may be in lagoon mode but I'm not sure how to tell.

Put it in the purple setting then hit the set button... Should be the 3rd n 4th LEDs lit up....

Well that's the way it is on my mp40s

You'll know you're in NTM when you get a wicked wave going at the right frequency! I get a crazy one with my 40 and 60 in my 200. It's awesome! Are the 10s quiet? I'm glad the 200 is in the front room because the 60 and 40 are both pretty obnoxious.

Hey Erik, I hear alot of ppl saying that the 40s are loud but I have mine at 70-80% and I barely notice them.. Yesterday I even had to put my hand on them to see if they were working properly..

Only time i found them loud is when they are not proper aligned. And when one that I bought used was a little banged up on the inside.... A new wet side fix that issue..

I know the 10's are a little annoying when cranked up and i have never played with a 60..

When I have them in anti-sync, on full blast, and on NTM, what I hear is WOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOP! I've become accustomed to it though. Typically I just run them both at 100% and use the NTM for show. Problem I have is that the 60 eats fish, or holds them so tight against the sponge that it kills them. I just lost my puffer because it got stuck to it. It totally deformed the puffer's body, and I had to fight to get him off it. I told Cory and Troy one time that the only regret I have with the 60 is that I have to get fish big enough to be able to tear themselves off it. My large sailfin has had some tattered fins before.

What mode do you usually run yours on Erik?

Both on normal mode at 100%. It makes an insane gyre without the on/off. That 60 can pull and push some water!
