Looking for a good quality Par38 LED to hang over my Nuvo 8. I'm not sold on a particular brand but do want at least 14K overall color temp.

Are you dead set on a par 38?
Wave point has a 6" high output clip on lamp that is reef capable. I'm going to run this one on my 5 gallon pico.

And u can always add some LEDs later and hide them under that little hood if you need more light which I doubt... Or if u wanted to add moonlights.

Nice light! Have you found any PAR and or PUR numbers on it.
I will keep it in mind, but I think that a PAR38 will better suit my needs with a couple of SPS frags I have. I have a Purple Haze Chalice that is growing great with the stock light on the NUVO but it's color is a bit laking. Also have an orange branching one that has some growth already as well and it's color is good though. I feel it will just give me a bit more intensity up high in the tank.

As soon as I get mine in I'll let you know how well it lights up my pico. From the pics it looks like it does a great job.

I am replacing the Stunner Strips on my 185 soon and will look at Wave Point for that as well. There prices seem pretty good. I am going to buy a Par38 from another member this weekend and I may end up using it to spotlight my LTA in the 185. He is about 10" diameter and I don't want to light the whole tank with reef lights just for him. Have to keep it though cause the kids love it and our Clarkii hosts it. My 2 year old is mesmerized by the relationship between them. I think he might be the next young reefer around town. He even helps with water changes.
Thank you very much for opening my eyes to those lights. I did not even know they existed.
Have you already placed your order for the light?

Thanks! I already got a PM from him and will grab it this weekend. Works out great too, he's just down the way from me.

I'll be ordering it Friday and should receive it by next week some time. Which is when they cycle in my pico should have completely ran its course.

Do you have a build thread for your Pico?

No not yet, I'll probably start snapping some pics and tracking the progression of the tank. Should be a fun little tank to look at when its all done.
What are the specs on your ATO? How does it operate?
I have only used gravity fed ATO myself, and I'm curious how you set up yours.

I have a AquaHub ATO kit. It is just a float with a snail guard and a second float to turn the pump off in case the first one fails. It runs to a relay that I have a Maxijet 400 plugged in to. I have a JBJ ATO on my big tank and this $40 DIY kit blows it away with reliability and accuracy. Everything you would need except an extension cord and pump come with the kit. It took me about 20 min to build it up.

I have a AI Nano just sitting around but that would be overkill for that tank lol

Are you looking to get rid of the ai nano?

Not really but I could use the money to help purchase another Sol

Yeah! I think the AI Nano would really be overkill. The PAR38 I picked up appears do being doing fine. All corals are responding well.
