My New to me 12g Nano Cube

Well i finally setup my other tank, its a 12g nano, when i bought it the guy said it was a 8G but with some help of some amazing peeps on Maast we figured out that is a 12g, got a great deal tank with lights for $40.. Put 3-4in of crushed live rock from Elegant and Chemipure Elite 1/2 and its running great. I put two clowns and a blue tip anomene and a couple pieces of live rock. it looks naked lol.
What temp. should i keep the tank and any other ideals what else to put in there the lighting is 150 watt JBJ Viper Metal Halide Light, so what coral can i put in there.

hey... no problem on advice but I really hope you didn't just set this up and toss some clowns and a BTA in?

If so...you need to remove them and do not add anything for a month or until the tank cycles. Anemones need established tanks to thrive. Clowns are more forgiving but they still need to be added after the tank has been cycled.

As I mentioned before, you should spend a little more time researching and learning before just jumping into it all, which I feel you might have just done.

I used water from my 125g, and tested the water, all my levels were normal.

when did you set this up, test and add the livestock? It all seems far too soon to me.

Even if you used established water, rock, sand etc...the tank still has to stabilize...if anything you just cut the cycle time down by utilizing established water and rock.

Not to be rude, because I'm only trying to help...but if you are asking questions about what temp should you run the tank...then that tells me you should not be adding livestock yet. Livestock should not be added until you are certain you have cycled and you are running a stable system.

I did the same on my 29g biocube...I used established, rock, water and sand but I still had a cycle and did not start adding livestock for a couple of weeks. Seeing cyano is a good indicator that you have cycled.

If you have an established 125 up and running that can support a nem and clownfish then I urge you to add the livestock to it. At least until you get things stable on this system.

^^^ agree, what temp is it running after lamp has been one for atleast 5-6 hours also whats are the temps at night, you wanna keep swings minimal. glad your excited about the hobby but listen to us when we say slow down. i know some of us swap tanks fast but we have owned many other tanks and set up many systems. ill be the first to tell you i dont always go by the rules i tell new guys, but i know what to look for, test and what to expect from expirence.

tks for the advice, referring to the temp. i heard some people keep it like at 82, my tank is holding at 79 so that why i was asking what clown prefer, the research i've done says 78-80 for clowns, so i was wondering what other people do.

if you can keep them at 78-79 thats great, what you dont want is 74 at night then 81 during day. big swings are stressful even if your livestock looks good with big swings it is stressful and can make it harder for them to thrive. watch the nem and make sure it shows no signs of stress, you will cycle and it will not like going through it.

Um, that's really soon for your additions Andres. I think the temp swings have been covered by prior posts. I'd have waited on those critters you put in there. It's too soon. I waited no less than 6 months before my first nem...

Agreed on the 6 months. Nems are quite sensitive.
