Any reason I shouldn't do this? It looks safe. I'm wanting to run a K3 on the back wall of an all in one system.

yeah, my thoughts too...I even pulled the rubber part off on the dry side and it does look exactly like the wet side.

Just a magnet coated in rubber right? dont see a problem with that.. just keep an eye on it

word...so probably just need to make sure there aren't any slits or slices in the rubber that could cause rust on the magnet..

There is no problem ime with this at all. I have done tbis numerous times at the shops and in my tanks, reef, or fresh it doesnt matter. My guess is its identical to the inside because it would be cheaper to mass produce 2 of the same tbings than 2 different ones but with slightly different components.
But overall no this shouldnt create any issues for you.

Hey Bro-ski,
I ran three K4s in my 190 on the overflow for almost two years, the dry side of the magnet submerged within the overflow to no ill effect.
I've still got those koralias.

And just for the record, I totally thought we were talking about vortechs for some reason. The Koralia will absolutely be fine.

The magnets are not the same, but you will have to check them for rust occasionally. I've been putting them in the over flow for years and i've had some last and others rust out. Let me check I may have some extra magnets for you, I should have like 20 or so extra magnets stuck to something as I keep throwing the heads away (after they leaked voltage).
