I'm looking to get rid of some hair algae, and have heard that this will help significantly. What's everyones opinion and experience with this?

I have found that GFO helps to keep Hair algae from taking over a system but does not help a whole lot in removing hair algae that is already taking over a system. I would peroxide dip to remove hair algae along with manual removal and then use GFO to help keep the hair algae under control. Without starting over it can be a long battle.

I've never had to dip anything, what do I have to do for a peroxide dip? And what do I use to "run" GFO?

you need a GFO reactor or a media bag to put GFO in.

Could I just put it in a media bag and put it in my ac20?

You can run it however you want. Passively in a media bag in the sump, a media reactor, a canister filter, or a HOB. It is more effective in some applications, but it should work well enough in the AC20.
I've been running it for about 2 months now. It will cut down on your algae but it does take awhile to strip the system of all phosphates. Reminds me I need to change mine as I can see algae starting to grab a hold again.
