Definitely keep the fairy dust (the rock with the super sized zoas that are speckled) separated from everything else.

When the rock is full, pull off chunks of them. They will start growing away from the rock in an attempt to grow in other parts of the tank.

And the lone sps on the frag plug is Ora stuber. You want the tips to be a glowing light blue. That will tell you that it's happy and growing.

Ok I'll try to remember all that. Shoul I get a frag rack for all of these or are they ok in the sand and on the rocks?

I'd put fairy rock on the sand isolated from the rest of the rock work.

The digi looks happy, and it will probably grow as is.

The pocilla was jammed into the sand bed before, it should be fairly happy in the rocks.

The blue ridge coral is the brown lumpy thing. When it's happy you will get a little polyp that makes it look fuzzy. Keep that away from any large pieces of rock, it will encrust over anything that surrounds it.

The neon hydnophora, that will encrust as well as grow up. It gets fuzzy as well. It can, and will, give you a stout looking branchy coral.

The scuba steve is perfect where it's at. It will continue to grow until you have a large ball of it growing. Moderate to slow flow over that one.

Now that you've got some sps in that tank, might want to check your calcium levels to ensure you have enough. You should still be able to keep on top of the coral demand by performing water changes regularly.

jumping into sps right out the gate! make sure you keep up with water changes and do your best to keep water "clean". i dont know if you have a skimmer but nuvo makes one just for that tank, its very nice i had a chance to mess with it and i like it.

Allan...thank you for all the help..
chris...I believe I saw the skimmer you are talking about and I'm waiting until pay day to get it...

Fortunately all of the sps and lps you have will be tolerant to a point. A skimmer is definitely a good thing unless you have a really robust fuge to export the excess nutrients.

Ok...now I have test strips that you buy at petsmart to test the water...im guessing I need something else to test it properly. What would you suggest

I have found the test strips at Petsmart unreliable for reading Nitrate. I know there are other brands out there but I have been happy with the API kits that are sold at Petsmart and pretty much every other fish store in town.
