Saltcritters Group Buy - Any Interest?

I was thinking about getting some acans from saltcritters. I've never heard of them until recently, but a few people ordered from them and had a good experience. Plus, they have tons of single head acans for $5/ea. Shipping is about $35 to here, so I thought if I was going to order something we could piggy-back and share shipping. I'm not 100% in yet, but wanted to gauge interest.

Delivery logistics: I work days and these guys charge an extra $20 for Saturday delivery. Either I have it delivered to my work in the AM and take them home at lunch, or if someone else is available to receive that would probably work better.

Jeremy, as I just texted you...I'm concerned about ordering the horses because if I take delivery, I don't have anywhere to hold them for you unless someone else takes delivery of this order and is comfortable housing them for you.

Earliest I can order is Tuesday. As Sat delivery is out (at least for tomorrow) and Monday is a holiday.

Not to rain on y'alls parade but, I noticed the substrate in all those coral pics is blued out. May just be the lighting or the fact that I'm jaded on these Internet pics.

This is probably a dumb question but what exactly do you mean by "blued out"? Is that a bad thing?

It means the white balance isn't corrected. It makes the corals look better in pics.

*in no way am I saying these pics are touched up or altered in any way.

Meh, I can't take a picture under my lights either. I mean, if that's what they look like under actinics, that's what they should look like under all our actinics, no?

I don't believe so. Chris was telling me that they were taking pictures with a few different spectrums to pull out the colors they wanted.

Trust me, the zoa I ordered looked nothing like fairy dust palies. They did make good on it though.

Even the Zoas I got from the mrcoral group buy look very blah. They looked awesome on the website though. Maybe it's just my defective eyes.

They look similar, but they aren't. I saw all the different reverse space monsters he had and they all look different from one another...much like how those fairy dust palies look different.

And of course they are going to use bluer lighting and amazing macro lenses on their cameras...it's all about marketing their product. I can see why people find online orders so appealing after putting up my LED and watching my tank in the evening when it's blue. At MACNA EVERY single vendor with a tank had some blue blue blue lights...Ben, you were there...you know exactly what I'm talking about

Indeed. They had some pretty kick butt lights. I'm sure once I get that AI Sol super blue ill find out just how much pop I can get out of stuff.

Hopefully they have enough stock to fulfill our order, I have a feeling some of us are going to want all the same ones. LOL

What I want is a lakers acan, livid lime, lizard eye, and maybe a rielynator. They only have one more laker acan....so we'll see how that works out since I'm sure people are eying that one too.

If we can lock down a date I may be able to receive it at work. I've got a desk jockey office job so that wouldn't be a problem. Could even meet on the way home somewhere central to make the hand off.

On the best ones I have done in the past we contacted the business and set up a MAAST group buy. Each individual would then contact the business to order and pay for their frags. They are then shipped out at same time. I have also done group buys where we all paid one person and then order was made. Worked great one time, the other three times not so great.

Please everyone check what you wanted against the stock. This might not make sense for me anymore since most of the frags I wanted are now sold out. I still may do some WYSIWYG pieces, but wanted to give the heads up to everyone about the stock levels.
