cant attach my corals to the rock???

i moved all my sps colonies from my holding tank two weeks ago and bought some new aswell last month..... they been sitting on sand bed since than ...this morning i tried attaching em to the rocks and i has having hard time....the rock in my tank os oyestercrete rock thats pretty sharp....i spent almost 1 hour on it and quite after i was only able to glue one..:bareteeth:...
any idea i hve always use the reugular putty that we get em from LFS

Are you keeping them on the plugs?

Super glue gel works for me, but it can be tricky to open the glue, apply it to frag, and then be able to get your frag set in place while also getting the cap on the glue without it gluing closed. Having a pair of helping hands is beneficial. I also glue my fingers together daily with this method.

Lol difficulties?....

i just place the glue on a paper plate after applying to frag.... Glue is cheap so I don't care if I waste any.


everyone wets the glue before setting the frag in the tank..... It works but sometimes it doesn't....


another way I do it and waste a lot of glue but it holds and fast. Is I apply the glue to the plug, then wet it with water from the tank that I have on the side in a plastic cup. I then place the frag where I want it and hold it for a few seconds and give a slight twist.. I then remove it for a second dose of glue and quickly place it in the tank..... For some reason it seems to adhere a lot quicker that way......

Oh yeah...gluing to plugs is easy, but I like to glue the plugs or rubble or frag directly to rocks in the tank.

Ya that's what I mean... The plugs I glue to the LR..

just clip off the stem with wire cutters.

Yeah I know, but I hate plugs and discs so I just glue directly to the rock most of the time. Only if the frag is encrusting do I leave it.

Press and hold the frags with the glue on them where you want them. Hold for about a minute. Gently pull the coral away from the rock, give a 1/4 turn, and press it back into place. Hold for another minute or longer.
