Hello guys, I wanted to give you guys an update on my aquarium. I have picked up 30+ lbs of dry rock, some big pieces. They are in another aquarium being cycled right now but once they are done they will be in. Other than that today my Tunze 6206 wavemaker came in the mail. Ive set it up and made a couple adjustments but this is how it does. If you guys who know alot more than myself could pop in and let me know if maybe it is to much of a wave or not that would be great.
And yes that domino damsel is being booted! Dont anyone ever pic one up he is a terror! lol

I was going to go with a tunze but it makes a large wave to big for my tank and i got an mp10 and it makes a good sized wave im thinking of adding another

love that wave! Looking great.
On another note... I see you got sucked into the "smooth my video" option on YouTube. lol, last time I did that I was so mad...can't undo it once you select it, I had no idea it would come out so crudy, not even sure why they offer it, it just distorts the quality of the video.

Hey guys it is nighttime and I have a question. At nite the wavemaker shuts off which is cool but are the fish going to be ok thought the night with no movement in the water? Just the water flowing down to the sump and back up out the return is the only thing running right now.

you should still have some powerheads in there even with the tunze. the wave is nice but you need water circulation still. the mp's nutrient extract mode will incorporate a wave into its cycle.

Yea that is what I was thinking. I hooked the koralia 1050 back up. But man this wave maker is awesome. Hey how long do you have to cycle dry Fiji rock before it is cured?

heres what worries me about the wave maker: its a beast and 55g tanks are made of such thin glass so popping a seam could happen. i wouldnt run it so aggressivley make sure your stand and everything else is stable thats a lot of water sloshing lol

Yea I have turned it down since the last post. The seams is exactly why. It has different chips you can pu into it depending on how big the aquarium is so I have it on the second lowest one. But it is still powerful.
Hey Chris how long do I have to cycle dry rock before I can put it in my aquarium? Do I just run it until ammonia and nitrites and 0? Or do I leave it in there to grow bacteria?

ive never "cooked" rock i just make sure its clean and use as much live rock as i can get a hold of to seed the tank and just "toss" it all in. i like using good quality live rock so i can start adding livestock right away.
