Paly eater..... BUSTED!!!

Apparently I have one and he prefers palys over zoas. Had a couple of frags on a corner frag rack up high and they were fine, I decided to bring them down today and he tore them to shreds leaving me a head of my sunny Ds and magicians..... He left all the zoas alone....


I sat there for a good while to watch after the first nibble and no one came close to them, figured maybe cause I didn't feed alot today they must have had the munchies. So I stepped out for dinner and they were shredded them to pieces by the time I came back.....


Curious to who it could be but when I find them..... They will get the boot...

Im suspecting the flame angel....

I also have a yellow tang,..... Maybe

Purple tang.... Again maybe but palys have been disappearing way before I put him in.

Bristletooth tang...... No way

Diamond goby..... Forget about it

Naso...... UnsUre

Flame hawk...... Doubt it

Blue velvet damsel...... I hope. He was the cheapest but has been with me forever...

i'm going to bet on purple tang.. I have heard of these dudes eating polyps before. Mine ate acans after a year of being cool. Around the same time Sherry, snforka (can't remember her id) had one munching on palys and acans. Over the years I have also read a few threads of the same...palys and lps.

So far seems the yellow seems to be the suspect at this point.....


i made a time lapse and he seems the one to hang in the area scoping out the rack the most. No bites on the film but today someone pulled 2 frags out of the rack and I didn't set up the camera.... I have it set up right now and will set it up tomorrow....

Dude, I had fragged about 4-5 plugs of Zoas and set them on the rack and all but 1 are gone. I thought it may have been the new glue but, I've been wondering about my yellow tang as well.

Congrats! So for future reference, was that camera set on motion detection? What kind of set up did you use? Give us some night-surveillance 101 please!

I set the camera when I'm not home... Using a intervalometer... I set it to take a shot every second, on a 8gig card that was close to 3000 images at a medium setting on the camera.. It took 4 times till I caught him in the act...


I did just finish capturing him and he is now sitting in my sump.... Lets see if he is the only one now..
