Hello guys, I was wondering how many of you run the filtration in your sump. Im roughly new and I want to make sure my system is running perfect. Ive noticed that a few people run GFO, carbon and phosphate reactors. Some people use a bag of chemipure ect ect ect. My system simply goes down the overflow into a filter pad. Then through liverock into chaeto. Then off to the protein skimmer and back up to the aquarium. I do not run any carbon chemipure or anything. I dont think im happy with this because im starting to get a little red slime algae down in the sump where the live rock is and the chaeto. And I cant seem to get the nitrates do go any less then 40-80.
So if you guys dont mind can you give me a run down of how your system works and if you have any advise on my system I would greatly appreciate it.

High capacity GFO and rox8 carbon, both in reactors. Biweekly water changes. Minimal feeding...

So you have the two reactors. I think im going to buy them on the bulk reef supply order that is going down. If you see my sump you will see it is getting red algae in it. I think im going to get a koralia powerhead for the rock.

BRS high cap gfo in a reactor, fix carbon in my media tray in a bag. 20% water change a month.
