Stayed up till about 2 am setting them up.
First I need to revise my previous opinion. The mounting system sucks, plain and simple. Its a awesome concept that fails so miserably in practice. I think whoever engineered it needs to be drug into a back alley somewhere and beaten with a dead trout.
Now the actual rails, and hanging hardware is awsome, my issue comes with the mounting equipment to put it on your tank.
The "A" package is made for a rimless maybe up to half a inch glass. Wont work period unless you're willing to modify the rim of your aquarium. I wasn't so it fails.
SO, I went and bought what I think is the "e" System another 60 bucks. It would work fantastic !!! , If my tank was wider than a 75 gallon aquarium is..... With all the pieces of the mount assembled it hangs over front and back like crazy. I think you need a minimum 2 foot wide tank for this to work with no issues.
I had to Jerry Rig the extenders to get the whole thing to work and remove 2 pieces of the rail.
Thank god my stands 4 feet tall and the top of the tank is almost 6 foot off the floor otherwise I would have been dropping all this crap off back at UPS today. It looks like ***, sorry for my language. Oh yea, and my controller that costs 150 bucks is broken. The little tab that is molded into the top of it is broken off.
Im so sick of this product that I am just going to keep it, because I dont feel like messing with it anymore.
All in all I really regret not going with the vega's.
I love the actual lights, I think they are the best off the shelf unit out there, the rest of the system sucks monkey balls.
Anyways heres a quick picture.
