Not sure what forum to put this in until I know what this is.

It showed up about two days ago on some LR that came out of another members sump. The rock has been un the tank for about 45-60 days.
It's about the size of a nickel and dime ( from left to right). The pics make it look more opaque than it really does look like with the naked eye.

It looks like a leather or a sponge.

how does it feel? is it completely water filled and squishy? or does it have some inside structure?

Not sure how it feels. I'll stick my hand in tomorrow and get a feel of it. It looks as though it would feel like a jelly sac.

Curious what it feels like. Looks like old super glue from fragging, but if you say it just showed up that couldn't be it.

Im thinking if it came from a sump its probably a sponge.

i'm going with ulva lactuca. it is a common macroalgae, although it looks a little bleached out, i can say with 85% certainty that that is what it is.
