I got some chaeto from eve a couple weeks ago, it appeared to come with an abundance of life, including what I believe to be many bristleworms. I saw plenty of good sized ones, about 1" with thick bodies, but I just stumbled across this beast. It's 3" in length. I know bristleworms are beneficial, but this is just scary to see. I'm never putting my bare hand in the sump again. Yikes.
Sorry the fuge is a little dirty, but that's better than the DT right?

If memory serves. Onces they get 4 plus inches they can become dangerous. Normally with inverts and bottom dwellers though.

As long as you have a sandbed/refugium for them to hide and feed, there is know need to worry. However if you are running a BB tank they could become a cause for concern. Ive got hundreds in my display and some are 8"+ in my system they are nothing more than opportunistic death eaters... I'll take them if you don't want them, if it came out of Eve and Ross's tank I know its good:)

When I had my Trigger only Tank in the 90's I found one that was over a foot.

I got BW over 1 foot long, several in my tank without problem. Never ever. They just keep my tank clean.

Yeah, these big guys are in my sump. Nothing big like this in the DT, yet. Startled me more than anything...you never know what's lurking in our tanks.
