If you are positive it is ich, the only real treatment is to remove the fish, leave the tank fallow for 9 weeks without any hosts, and treat the fish in QT to get rid of the parasite on them. Not gonna lie, you won't have fun with this part.

^^ That right there. If they are really covered, you are going to have to treat, or risk losing all of them. It's not fun, but it is do-able.

if not you cam bight the bullet, and ride it out.metronidazole and focus in food, with garlic extreme. also if it just came on all of sudden may check for something stressing fish, like parameters or stray voltage from pump. usually its brought on when fish stress. any new livestock added recently.

man Jeremy...that's too bad! I think it's just related to the fish stressing, since you just picked up my Yellow Tang, Blue Hippo and Melanurus and I'm not sure which ones went into your tank or your pops, they obviously didn't like the move. I have never treated for copper and I'm pretty sure you haven't either which means all of my fish and yours have ich even if we don't see it. Same goes for any fish you get. Almost all fish have ich unless treated but as long as the fish are happy there's no real issues.

If you aren't up for treating it I would do like Chris suggested and just ride it out and try to keep the fish happy. Feed algae strips around the clock with garlic extreme. Do SMALL water changes daily and keep your hands out of the tank.

You also mentioned you turned the lights on....were the lights off the entire time you were gone...? That could have severely stressed them.

Sorry man. I hate ich.

That's no good bro. I'm tagging along with all these ICH threads so I can prepare myself for the eventual battle.

You have to remove the sick fish and maybe the sand. Any low swimming fish on sand can get it like engineers. You are now battling an aggressive parasite in the tank. sorry
Eventually if they have no host they will die off. It takes time. Do not remove anything from the tank and put in another established tank.

Dont put anything in the tank. No LR, sand, nothing.Ive never tried garlic. Copper is rough stuff. It kills the ick but also kills the fish slowly.
Your doing the right thing and jumping on this asap while the fish still have energy.

Given we have battled ICH a few times.. :) We finally realized not just one thing but all of these will work together..

Cleaner Shrimp
Cleaner Wrasse
UV Sterilizer
Garlic Extreme
Lots of Algae/Food

Also, Ich can be brought on by Stress and I think this is what happened since you just added a few more to your tank and If I were you I wouldnt do the copper treatment especially if you have a reef tank. Its not good.

well now you know the cause of ich, the two fish don't get along. you let them go on see if it stops or one dies. or you can pick which one you like better and sell or give away the other. your going to need a fish trap or remove most of the rock to catch one

okay just checked back and seen the yellow on his side.

sorry but it happens I have a pygmy angel that gives all new additions the "welcome to the tank" routine. usually chills after a day or two. he's too fat and hungry to keep it up. tang is more than likely done, moving a weak fish to another tank will cause others fish to attack
