Is it the clamp on or the fixture...? The clamp on puts out less heat than the fixture. You will need a chiller to keep it under 82 if you keep your house higher than 75, run the lights longer than 6 hours and have multiple powerheads.
I had this setup once before, the fixture version and it ran hot. I had two koralia pumps and could only run the light for 6 hours keeping the house at about 72-73. The peak would hit 82 after 6 hours and I also ran a fan pointed over the surface of the water.
I'm setting up the newer version, clamp on, in the next week. We keep our Ac at 74 and I plan to install computer fans in the back and in the canopy that is being made for it. I also will not be using internal powerheads and will just run a vortech...that should help a lot.
I would explore these options before purchasing a chiller. A sump could solve a lot too.

I run the house at 74 and its the fixture type.. Idk if I feel like drilling it for a sump?? I might try the fan idea but dont like having so many things around the tank..

yup you will need a chiller since its the in closed top with hqi inside. jbj pretty much came up with the nano artica for the hqi tank. my cf light powered bio cube had heat probs

when I refer to fans I don't mean house fans...do a google search for fan mods to BioCubes.
I would start with the fan, then figure out how long you can have your lighting on before you reach the desired maximum peak in temp. Then...if you are not getting at least 6 hours out of your main lighting cycle before you hit the maximum peak you can then explore other options...such has a HOB nano eshops overflow (no need to drill the tank) to add a sump...or possibly a chiller or maybe another fan.
I would also add an auto-topoff. This can easily sit in the cabinet. Auto top-off will slightly assist in cooling the tank, not much but it will help because the water being added to the tank is of a cooler temp.

I will look up fan modds and then a top off I will buy for sure.. Hopefully I can get the temps down with these options or I might just buy a chiller and skip the hassle lol. Another question is there any way I can put a led strip in the hood mine went out? How would I do this? Thanx

Get a stunner actinic led strip or even Truelumens...both work the same and can easily mount to anything.
If money is no issue then do the chiller and save yourself the hassle.

I think a small flame angel would work fine in the tank but the question is if it will work fine with your corals. They seem to be hit or miss.

Yea thats what I worrying about : o.. So can I start cycle with tank then add chiller in about two weeks or so?

Yeah, you can add a chiller later. You will just need to keep and eye on your temps and adjust your photo period accordingly. I always leave the feed doors open on mine to help with cooling. Unless company comes over...

Yea. it is already drilled for the hose to put chiller in so if I decide to get one should be pretty easy to install.. I might go with a hawkfish instead of the flame angel lol dont want my corals getting picked on and I dont plan on having any little shrimp of sorts.. would that be ok?

I am a bigger fan of the flame angel from a visual aspect. I've never had either species though. I cannot comment on their palate.

I would do the tru lumen over the stunner for a moonlight....
First off its cheaper, not too bright and doesn't let off as much heat. I mean, the stunner doesn't let off that much heat but it does let off some and that's something you are trying to minimize in the first place...
The tru lumen is small, I mean very small.... I had one in my aqua pod and loved it, it was just the right amount of light... It lit up my corals but left some dark spots for fish to get some sleep....
Plus if you need more, they are link able and you can put up to 6 on one power supply...

Like Ben, I would leave the little feeding door open during its prime hours and it would lower the temp a degree or 2, no joke.....
But adding more fans or upgrading the ones included will help alot but then you will have a bit of noise...

Thanx for the input.. I probably start the cycle this weekend keep checking the temps and light cycle and see if I can control temp by leaving feeding door open if not ill grab a chiller... my basic layout for stock is a clown, hawkfish, blenny, goby shrimp pair.. Would that be fine?? Really wanted a flame but.very cautious about it picking at corals..

I was going to run a sump on my 28nano but went a differant route with a larger tank. I have an Eshops nano overflow NIB for the 28 nano that I wont be using. Could cut you a good deal. I ended up going open top with 6 18w t5 for my heat issues.

I have a 28g JBJ HQI, and when I had the top on, I also had a fan that clipped onto the back and blew air over the overflow/fuge/skimmer sections in the back. It kept the temp to 80-81 with an 8hour photo cycle and the fan on a timer to come on with the light. That being said...it was louder than I preferred whenever the light/fan were on. In the end, I ended up hanging a radion over the open top...lol. A bit of overkill, but looks nice :)
I have a flame angel in mine as well. Multiple LPS and it doesn't touch them. It adds great color to the cube as well.
