I put too many bio-pellets in my reactor with no sponge and a bunch spilled out was sucked up into my overflow box. I use the 2 holes in one of the overflow boxes as a return and emergency drain. I only use a 45 on the bulkhead on the return and the return water travels up the height of the overflow box then into the tank. The bio pellets are "tumbling" around in the overflow box and gave me an idea. Couldn't I just dump all my bio pellets in the overflow box and let them tumble in there? They won't travel the height of the box and get into the tank. The drawback I do see that they might get tumbled too hard. Thoughts?

they have some new biopellets out that are suppose to be able to be used without reactors they are big pieces. I was always under assumption the bacteria that feed on pellets give off co2 but if the water coming out the overflow is aerated you prob could
