So we had a little electrical storm. I was upstairs and didn't think anything of it until I went downstairs and the big tank is low about 6" from the top.

So I do a very pronounced and somewhat exaggerated pee pee dance and rush over to see what happened.

The inside of my stand is full of water. The sump is full to the rim.

No water on my floor.

I have siphon breaks on my return lines so I couldn't figure out how or why my water drained to the bottom.

Here's what happened. Power surge tripped the surge protector, shutting off my pump. Water stopped flowing. My carbon reactor is pulled from the tank, and the return is fed back into my display. Only it wasn't. It was feeding into the overflow, which I'm turn kept feeding my sump, until that ran over, filling my stand, until the water level fell to the point where it couldn't pull anymore water.

Shop vac four loads of water from the stand (glad I spent all that time painting the inside), and cleaned up what could have spelled the end of the line for me.

All I suffered was a blown fuse on my chiller.

If anyone has a sloblow 250V/20A fuse lying about I would be forever in your debt. I will come over any time you get your frisbee stuck in a tree.

What a tense evening.

Same thing happen to me. But my floor is soaked. Used a lot of towels. Need to get a shop vac. Thank god I'm in a house and not a third floor apt for the water to leak into the lower apartment ... again.

just make sure it's the 250v type not just the same size physically.... auto store has some the same size but may be 12v

I went to the auto store yesterday on the off chance that they would have it.... But yeah that was a pipe dream. Most autos don't run 250 vac requiring a 20A fuse.

I found the right size and vac at HD but the ampere rating wasn't 20 amps, and it wasn't a sloblow either.

No love. They want a part number and the fuse only has the specifications. Coralife parts list shows the one horse models as not having a fuse.

Since gvtc is down this morning I can't seem to get the right info while on the phone.

Allan, you would have to order it, but you could try Mouser Electronics. Their online catalog has everything a person could want (and a few things I can't identify).

Also, a wild shot............Radio Shack or other computer store? I know one used to be able to buy 250v fuses years ago for large power supplies.

At least if you have to order from Mouser, order before Monday at 8pm and choose UPS ground, you'll have it on Tuesday morning.

You could also check Intertex on Hildebrand, but I don't think they are open weekends.
