so they are aggressive and fight....there any pretty ones that don't fight as much in a small group if introduced at same time? Don't want chromis, they suck....they get in my tank and disappear....still under unsolved mysteries. Lastly, I have 2 juvenile gold stripe maroon clowns, will they bother them?

I like Blue Devils. I currently have 3 but plan on having around 15. I also plan on having about that many chromis! :)

do they get along pretty well? Did you add them at same time? I thought about trying 5-6 at the same time...not sure which kind though

I've always felt damsels have a bad rap. One must remember that they are related to clowns after all and some species of damsels even take to anemones. A large grouping of them is a cool site and natural in reefs so why not in the aquarium. To do it though I think you need a larger aquarium which Erik clearly does.

Blue devils are probably the most popular and can be aggressive little farts, but are nice to look at. Id say add them all at once, they will develop a natural hierarchy a lot like freshwater cichlids do.

Check out this link, you will notice some that are more rare and beautiful fish. Not all damsels are $4-7 bucks. I've seen some in the $100 range if they are considered rare.

Girabaldis get huge, I believe they are the largest of the species and like there water cold. Water as cold as the 50s. You see them a lot in California. When I was in San Diego last month kayaking they were swimming under neath us. Super territorial fish. Id stick to the smaller ones ;)

LOL, thats funny Ray! When my wife and I went to Jamiaca several years ago, the Sergeant Major damsels did the same thing...they were pretty big as well!

I went with Talbot's Damsels. They stay small, and peaceful - for a damsel. I have maroon clowns as well, they don't bother each other a bit.

I saw them at Aquarium Designs looking very pink, but the ones at Elegant Reef looked more purple.

Spunky little things. One decided it wanted to live under my trachy, and kept digging a hole, so I had to make a shelf for the coral.

The talbots are sweet little things. Your two story trachy cracks me up. My twin spot goby tried that, didn't work out so good. My trachy ate him :(

Mix didnt work out so good. My smaller Gold stripe maroon clown is MIA......took damsels out again...lol **** THE LUCK. Ok, so now I have a 4 inch maroon with a 2 inch maroon with NO other damsels. Feel better about this pair.

Oh btw, they are Gold striped Maroons. I wanted these clowns to go with all my Florida State Seminole stuff. Garnet and Gold = Maroon and Gold! Works for me. Anyone that has been to my house knows exactly what I am talking about! lol

Forget the damsels, clowns are the mean ones. Damsels never tried to bite me, my clowns attack when I get close to the frogspawn. They are just false percs too, I heard those maroons are pretty aggressive themselves.
