Looking for a couple peeps for a group buy and grow out

Hey everyone I found a very intriguing site with some incredible stuff. A few friends of mine have gotten corals from this guy and i must say WOW. I am looking for a couple people to do a group buy and grow out. I talked to the guy that runs this coral farm and he is willing to make an incredible deal if we buy in bulk. Forgive me if I sound dense, but the plan is to buy X amount of corals in bulk, have 1 or more people grow them out to Y number of heads/eyes (where Y is the number of people in the group buy or a multiple there of), and then distribute said corals as frags?

Yep thats the plan! I already made the call and worked the deal with the guy. he said we could expect some heavy discounts if we put something decent together. Also this guy has sexy dynamite chalice which is 1000$ per eye and even at that price really really tough to find. If we work with him now he said we could get a deal on that in the future as well.

the grow-out model is we buy let's say 10 single eye frags with a pool of 5 people. let's say the total cost is $500. each person pays $100, and one trustworthy person with a healthy tank receives those 10 1 eye frags. when those frags reach a certain size, say 5 eyes, one eye of each for each person, they are fragged into new single eye frags and distributed, meaning each participant will receive a total of 10 frags, for the cost of the initial investment of $100. only problems arise are when someone's tank crashes, or a few corals die for no reason, or when corals vary greatly in growth rate(could take a year to grow an eye of crazy fox, could take a week and a half to grow an eye of miami hurricane)

Hmmm... but deciding on who's got the better green thumb for growing corals is gonna be a tough one. I know for a fact that I can grow the Sunny D type of palys like weeds in my tank for some reason. That is really what I want.

although i do also see david's point, it's just kind of a bang for buck type of thing. your 100 may get you your 2 frags, but in a grow out there is a good chance you'll get 7-10 frags of alotta different stuff, for the same 100. it's a gamble, but it could pay off.

I have 150g of room!! I've only seen a few zoas/palys that caught my eye. might be easier to but em on my own

We could also split the grow out up. Someone with good luck on zoas can take the zoas while someone else does chalices. Just a thought

I might be interested but it depends on what the final line up ends up being. I like chalices but have most of the ones on his site already. I'll wait to see what everyone is interested in.
