I scooped up a healthy looking purple tang from Alamo aquatics a minute ago..

Should I...

Throw him in my 110 with my yellow that has been acting very dominant since the departure of my beloved vlaminigi...

Or throw him in the 20L frag tank with no other fish as a temporary housing(quarantine?) and then throw him in the 110 a few weeks from now....

I really hope him and the yellow can get along as the colors of both would look sick.....

I'd feed your yellow, then rearrange the rock work and then add the purple. If they fight...lights out for two days. Good luck, since they are the same they will fight...just hope they duke it out quickly and they both are ok with the outcome of who gets to be head honcho.

the yellow was quick to call truce with the vlaminigi but has been a pain to the naso since shamu left.

That's a big established yellow Tony, I'm sure he's gonna wanna throw his weight around.

Try the rock re-arrange and see how they do.

If the above doesnt work put the yellow in your next biggest tank. Than redo steps above. wait 24 hrs than put together.
Remember once a tang gets injured it can get sick fast.

take the yellow put him in the frag tank add the purple in two weeks add the yellow

LOL.... well lets just say I have been arranging rocks since I posted this. Just finished and they are going at it but not too much... the purple is a punk.


LOL almost 5 hours of aquascaping.

And I have a 5 gallon bucket full of left over live rock. I personally think it looks better...... So who needs rock?,,,

I think they should be okay..... Purple is not fighting back so I guess he will fall in order soon...

they all ate without fighting until the food was finished.... And I moved all my rock around so they should all have to find new homes tonight...

keep nori 24-7 for them until they settle in, I wanna see some pics of the new scape dude

The new guy!!! And yes theres big ol chunk of nori for all of them to graze on..

Not the best pic.... Glass is dirty as my scraper is being used to hold the nori, water is still abit cloudy from the rocks being moved...

Crappy pics.... I know but I'm too lazy to bust out the real camera....

I was supposed to take the fam some where today but it was a day of rock work...

The layout is similar to what I had when I started the tank... I wish it was wider to have little islands but this will do for now... Think I am finally happy..

I also picked up a UV sterilizer today so I will be connecting that during the week..... All the tanks that I have seen running them have extra clear water....... So I'm going to give it a shot...
