Do Kenya trees move? I have two and they are thriving but just curious. They are attached to rocks and it doesnt look like they can move.
Emerald crab didn't make. However, water parameters are excellent. Fish, anenome and other inverts are doing great. The emerald was eating dried seaweed as well as whatever it found in the tank. Im curious what happened...
Mysis vs Brine shrimp. I'm using both but I notice that mysis are smaller than brine and mysis causes algae. Fish like both but favor mysis. Has anyone else come to this conclusion.

Which brand are you using? And are you rinsing your food before feeding?

No, not rinsing. Thawing out first though. The brand for both is San Francisco Bay - Sally's.

Response to item number 1: Kenya trees can end up around your tank on their own by... touching a rock or piece of something such as glass and then attaching itself to it and leaving a small piece behind, causing it to now spread. Or, by dropping a branch that will grow where it lands or where it is carried to by flow.

Are you sure you lost your crab? They molt. Then they hide for a day or two until they harden again.

I lost an emerald or two, but I think it was due to a lack of food. They clean up real good, then get hungry.

Mysis smaller than brine? I'm confused. I've never seen adult artemia though.

I've never had algae because of food and I feed alot.

But it wouldnt hurt to pre rinse your food... I tried it once and have stuck to doing so... Makes it a little easier when it comes to feeding to..

FWIW, I just saw this article today. I'll admit, I didn't have time to read it all, but I read what I could and it basically concludes there is no negligible difference in rinsing your food or not relative to phosphate levels in the tank. The phosphates in the food far outweigh the food in the 'rinse off'.

Absolutely correct there Mr. Cob! Grouch gave me a nice sized branch last year and it started dropping branches, they floated around, and then attached themselves to another rock. Now I have 4 pieces growing around the tank. Almost borderline invasive in my opinion.

Try to use just about any enriched brine. Those things are like potato chips (empty calories) without some sort of enrichment.

For mysis, I started using Aqua Treasures. It's about 1/2 the price of PE mysis, and from what I've heard, both brands come from the same lake. One of the PE brothers got mad at the other so he started his own company.

Ok, picked up some Aqua Treasures Mysis and it is awesome. Shrimp are three times the size of San Francisco Bay Mysis.
