So last week I had to go on a 4 day trip for work. On the day I left, I placed a gravity fed ATO on the rim of my tank with a light amount of super glue with the intention of removing it when my sumps return pump came in from Dr. Fosters. I instructed my loving wife to simply refill the water bottles as they emptyed. Some where along the line she noticed that the gravity fed ATO was a bit wobbly (I intentionally left it like this for easy removal) and decided to put a nice bead of glue along the bottom of ATO and on the rim. So, when I went to pull the ATO off today and install everything in the sump, it was quite a bit harder to remove than it was before. My question to you is, what is the best way to remove super glue without completly emptying the tank of water and keeping everything inside the tank? I gave it a good tug and I felt like if I pulled any harder I would either crack the rim of the tank of the ato itself which leaves me in quite the predicament.

Acetone is the only thing I know of that will soften CA.
