Thanks Ace, Its come a long way. I like the gorg too. Had a blue berry gorg for the longest time. But eventually lost it.

Yeah. I got it from AD and it was on its way out. Spot fed it twice a day with oyster feast. It turned around and started to grow polyps again. But then i got too busy with work and trying to go to school. So it suffered. Heres the tank just starting out. 15318

Yeah. His name is sushi because of it. When he was a kitten and i had my nano cube he would lay on the counter and stare for hours. Now he has a couch to lay on and watch the big tank. He's a lazy cat.

Thanks Tony, I'm actually going to strip a lot of rock out of this and move it to another tank and turn this into a aggressive tank. I am trying to get a small shark that its max size is in the 18-24 inch range and triggers and tangs. I like where it is currently. But now that I have it pretty much where I want it I want to get another tank going. Dangerous feeling.

Ha ha. Sherita is a beast with tanks. Quite impressive. Plus King normally only has one setup at a time for like a week. But Appreciated King. Not putting you on blast buddy. You know what would be a good footprint is a swimming pool with one side glass and a basement for a mancave/viewing area. Natural sunlight, a rock facade about 6' or 7' from the viewing pane would give you an area where you can grow out frags and send them out to LFS across the globe... or the frag swap.

Heck, you could host the frag swap at your crib, never have to worry about hauling water to one of those things. Get your dive time in on the weekends managing your livestock.

Of course, after pouring in an entire bucket of salt to mix that L tank, and still needing more, had me thinking that you would need a truck load of salt to make that work. And a 10 horsepower chiller to keep it cool. Man, I want to be a billionair so freaking bad!

That would be sick. You can always just buy one of those waste tanker trucks and use it to do trips to the ocean to get water for water changes. Or even to fill it up. Free water and and no need for salt. The truck would pay itself off quickly with money saved. I think a body of water that big wouldn't need a chiller. You can always have a fountain or water fall to naturally chill the water as it falls? A massive heater for the winter months for sure. ha ha. Maybe a giant thermal cover. We used one on my families pool growing up.

Found mid 90's trucks for hauling water. 2000 gallons for anywhere between 5-12 grand. or a 1970 thats hauls 1200 gallons for 2500. Or a trailer for about 3 grand. My parents pool was 37 long by 21 wide and 9 deep at the deep end. So lets do some math. Round that off 40 feet long by 20 wide. by 9 deep. Thats 8000 Cubic feet. 7.48 gallons per cubic foot. 59840 gallons not including the filtration system either...... Dreams are fun

Rock tank that has been up for close to 2 years with no issues......

With corals that have made it since day one.....

I don't say I've been successful rather I have learned alot...

Now have a tank for that long, then you have room to tank....

You want a reef in 2 months and I'm sorry to tell you but I don't think it's ever going to happen.. If you would have stuck with your first tAnk, you might have had a chance to have a reef by now but you gave up on it......


The problem isn't what your doing..... Rather that it's you that's doing it.

Change your water

Get RO unit

Dont use tap

Replace bulbs

Dont rush

Get good skimmer

Let your tank mature before adding full colonies of corals...
